Antonin Dolohov background

Antonin Dolohov was born sometime before 1970.

And while we don’t know anything about his past…

He grew up to become a Death Eater.

And was among the most dangerous Dark Wizards under Voldemort’s command.

In fact, he actually served him during the 1st Wizarding War.

A time when the Dark Lord first rose to power and terrorized the magical world.

But if you thought Voldemort was evil

Antonin was just as ruthless.

For example, he murdered Fabian and Gideon Prewett.

And these weren’t just your ordinary wizards.

They were members of the Order of the Phoenix. A secret society of the strongest wizards and witches that fought against the Dark Lord.

And even if Antonin had a little help from other Death Eaters…

It goes to show how scary an opponent he can be.

“Wow, he sounds dangerous. But did Antonin Dolohov get away with everything?”

On the bright side, he did get captured.

As a result, Antonin was sent to Azkaban.

And he’d spend many years in the maximum-security prison.

Antonin Dolohov occupation

Being stuck in prison doesn’t get you many job opportunities.

So I doubt Antonin had any time to apply for vacancies at Azkaban.

Plus, he’s surrounded by Dementors. Dark creatures that sucked every bit of happiness from your soul.

And if research says being happy’s important for your well-being…

I can only imagine what kind of pain Antonin Dolohov endured.

Or if he saved himself from going insane.

But his 14 years at Azkaban would soon come to an end…

Because Voldemort broke him out alongside other Death Eaters.

It’s 1 of the most chilling scenes in the film. And I definitely recommend watching it again:

“That sounds cool and all. But what does that have to do with Antonin’s job?”

You see, the Dark Lord recognized loyalty.

And Antonin would find himself working as a Death Eater again.

For example, he was tasked to keep an eye on 12 Grimmauld Place.

But what makes that so important, you ask?

Well, it’s the house of Sirius Black. And the headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix.

So Antonin had some pretty big shoes to fill…

Even if he had just escaped from prison.

Antonin Dolohov character

Antonin had a long, pale, and twisted face.

People also described him as bulky guy.

But he wasn’t as big as his fellow Death Eater, Thorfinn Rowle.

His defining trait was being merciless.

For example, when Harry and his friends were trapped in the Ministry of Magic…

Antonin actually broke Neville Longbottom’s nose.

On top of that, he also backed Harry Potter into a corner…

Threatening him with his sheer aura alone.

And if a study shows fear only happens during high-stress situations…

God only knows how scary Antonin had to be to threaten Harry Potter…

Without even using any words.

More facts about Antonin Dolohov

#1: He can beat the trio

Antonin Dolohov Can Beat The Trio

I know it sounds impossible.

Harry Potter’s so powerful, right?

Shouldn’t he be enough to handle Antonin Dolohov?

Well, Antonin’s good at tracking people down.

And alongside Thorfinn Rowle…

They disguised themselves and attacked Harry and his friends.

In fact, he managed to bind Ron Weasley.

Plus, he also slammed Harry Potter against the wall.

And if it weren’t for Hermione Granger casting a spell at the last second…

The Harry Potter series could’ve ended just there.

So you might want to remember Antonin’s face.

Because he’s a wizard that you don’t want to mess with.

#2: He killed Remus Lupin

Again, I know it sounds impossible.

Remus Lupin’s no slouch when it came to magic.

He’s even a member of the Order of the Phoenix.

So he should have enough skills to face any Death Eater, right?

Well, maybe not enough for Antonin Dolohov.

We don’t actually get to see the battle.

But Antonin delivered the killing blow.

And he murdered Remus Lupin at the Battle of Hogwarts. The climactic fight between good and bad during the 2nd Wizarding War.

So if you can remember how messy that event became…

It should show how skilled Antonin really was.

“I hate this guy. Does anyone ever defeat him?”

On the bright side, Filius Flitwick did avenge his fellow professor.

So it’s good to know Antonin didn’t get the chance to murder more wizards and witches.

#3: Created his own curses

If you thought Antonin Dolohov was scary enough…

Did you know he created his own curses?

You see, he actually used a unique spell with a slashing movement.

And it caused purple flames to attack its target.

Plus, before you question its power…

Antonine used it on Hermione Granger, and it knocked her out.

As a result, it could also be fatal with enough power.

“What’s so special about making your own curses?”

Well, it’s not something anybody can do.

It takes a strong understanding of magic to try.

Plus, for good reference, Professor Snape created his own curses too.

And Snape killed Dumbledore.

So to be on that same level…

Antonin Dolohov’s not just dangerous but a master at magic.

Bonus: Nobody knows what happened to him

The books never mentioned what happened to Antonin.

Plus, the movies didn’t show him being sent off to Azkaban.

So as far as everybody’s concerned…

He’s still out there.

A Dark Wizard that’s very powerful and intelligent.

But let’s hope he’s in Azkaban serving a life sentence.

Because the wizarding world doesn’t need another terror to rise.
