More facts about Mykew Gregorovitch
#1: He sold Viktor Krum 1 of his last wands

If you’re wondering why we don’t see more of Mykew’s wands…
Then that’s because he retired early.
You see, Mykew believed in legacy.
And if he stopped making any magical wands later in his life…
The ones he made before would become all the more valuable.
On top of that, Mykew never passed down his knowledge.
Because he preferred working alone…
Never finding himself an apprentice.
And it only made his wands more sought after.
Because the wandmaker had unique characteristics and beliefs about the nature of wands.
But can you guess who was 1 of his biggest fans?
Well, it’s none other than Viktor Krum.
1 of the finest wizards from Durmstrang Institute.
In fact, Viktor owned 1 of the last few wands that Mykew sold.
And Viktor held it in high regard saying:
“I vos one of the last to purchase a Gregorovitch vand. They are the best — although, I know, of course, that you Britons set much store by Ollivander.”
Plus, that’s a lot coming from a very talented wizard like Viktor:
#2: Lord Voldemort killed him in cold blood
I know it sounds crazy.
What would the evil Lord Voldemort want to do with a wandmaker, right?
Well, Mykew once had the Elder Wand.
The strongest wand in the wizarding world…
Rumored to have never lost a duel in its life.
So when Voldemort learned about this information.
He went straight after Mykew.
Unfortunately, Mykew Gregorovitch didn’t have it anymore.
And since he was no longer of use to Voldemort…
The Dark Lord simply decided to kill him off instead.
A tragic ending for a talented wandmaker.
Not to mention someone so knowledgeable too.
#3: Gellert Grindelwald stole the Elder Wand from him
Now, I know what you’re wondering.
If Mykew had such a powerful wand…
What did he do with it, and how did he manage to lose something so strong?
Well, Mykew wanted to study the Elder Wand.
And whatever made it so powerful…
He tried his best to replicate this strength in his work.
Unfortunately, he started telling everyone.
Because he believed it would attract new customers.
But it only brought in unpleasant people…
Which led to someone stealing the Elder Wand from him under the cover of night.
And can you guess who stole it?
Well, it was actually Gellert Grindelwald.
1 of the most powerful wizards in Harry Potter.
So even if Mykew never found out who stole it…
I think it was for the better.
Because facing someone like Gellert is a death wish.
In fact, even research agrees…
Since coming face-to-face with a deadly wizard would cause so much fear.
And that level of stress can lead to anxiety and helplessness.
