Rubeus Hagrid was born on December 6, 1928.

And was he a regular wizard?

Not in the slightest.

Rubeus Hagrid was half-giant.

Because his mother, Fridwulfa, was a pure giant. A magical being that could grow up to 7.62 m (25 ft) in height.

Unfortunately, Fridwulfa left Rubeus when he was about 3 years old.
