Terry Boot background

Terry Boot’s born sometime in 1979 or 1980.

On the outside, Terry’s your average half-blood wizard. A son with at least 1 magical parent. And with a bright future ahead of him.

However, the Boot Family’s far from your average household.

Its roots go back to the 17th century.

And Terry might be a descendant of Webster Boot. A co-founder of Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The school of magic based in North America.

Sadly, we don’t get to see much of his past.

So none of us can say for sure how deep and connecting the lineage goes.

But at least he’s like any other magical child.

Terry grew up with stories by Beedle the Bard.

And would eventually move into the wizarding school of Hogwarts when turned 11.

Terry’s early years at Hogwarts

Terry's Early Years At Hogwarts

Terry Boot entered the magical school in 1991.

And it’s the same year Harry Potter attended as well.

Terry would be sorted into Ravenclaw House. 1 of the 4 main houses of Hogwarts that’s known for wisdom, intelligence, and creativity.

And an attitude that would match Terry Boot perfectly.

Likewise, he made a lot of other friends among fellow Ravenclaws. They were Padma Patil, Michael Corner, and Anthony Goldstein.

Terry Boot occupation

Terry’s still a student.

So he doesn’t have your typical job.

But the young wizard’s no stranger to responsibility and tough work.

Because he became 1 of the original members of Dumbledore’s Army. A secret organization founded by Harry Potter and his friends. And taught its people many different defensive spells.

In fact, he even joined the Battle of Hogwarts. The climactic showdown at the wizarding school during the 2nd Wizarding War.

And Terry stood his ground against the dark forces that attacked.

Sadly, we don’t get to witness the Boot wizard fight.

In fact, we rarely see him in the movies.

However, he’s among the brave people who fought against evil.

And he’s also witnessed the duel between Voldemort and Harry.

Here’s a suspenseful scene that I definitely recommend watching again:

More facts about Terry Boot

#1: Very good with potions

Terry Boot may look average.

But his skill with potions would beg to differ.

And if you thought Harry Potter’s powerful

Terry’s mastery of magical ingredients was no slouch either.

You see, every student at Hogwarts had to take the O.W.L exams in their 5th year. A series of difficult magical tests that decided if you could continue studying.

But did Terry Boot fail?

No, he did the exact opposite.

The young Ravenclaw excelled in his potions exams.

So much so that he advanced to the N.E.W.T level in 1996. 1 of the hardest tests a Hogwarts student could take in their 7th year.

But would eventually help them land highly-respected jobs after their studies.

So even if we don’t know much about his life after the war…

It’s safe to say Terry’s got a future career waiting for him in the field of potions.

#2: Not your average magical duellist

Terry Boot’s pretty good at fighting.

And him standing his ground in the Battle of Hogwarts should be proof enough.

However, did you know he already has a bit of skill and flair?

Well, it’s actually true when Draco Malfoy, Vincent Crabbe, and Gregory Goyle kept bullying other students.

Did Terry just stand and do nothing?

No, he made sure to give them a lesson they’ll never forget.

And alongside other wizards and witches from Dumbledore’s Army…

They cast an unknown dark charm on the 3 boys. A powerful spell that transformed them into slugs.

So Terry can also be very courageous when needed.

Plus, a study shows courage’s good for a lot of things. Especially when dealing with high-stress environments.

And I’m sure it’ll come in handy for Terry in the future too.

#3: He’s a big fan of the famous trio

Ravenclaws tend to be quiet. And they save their enthusiasm for creative thinking.

But was it the same for Terry Boot?

Well, maybe to some degree.

However, when it came to Harry and his friend’s accomplishments…

Terry could never shut up about it. Because he’s actually a big fan of the famous trio.

For example, when Harry and his gang escaped from Gringotts. A maximum-security bank that’s known to be among the safest places in the wizarding world.

Terry Boot’s thrilled to learn about their escape.

Not to mention the fact they flew on a dragon to get out of the place.

Terry went as far as to announce it in the Great Hall. The main gathering place for all students and professors in Hogwarts.

Of course, it did get him in a lot of trouble.

In fact, Terry’s punished for his behavior.

But it’s funny knowing he’s got a cheerful attitude.

Plus, research shows positive thinking’s great for anyone.

And people who looked on the bright side of things had happier lives.
